I am a 50 year old runner with a goal to run the Boston Marathon. Lindsay is an essential part of my journey towards achieving total fitness and the joy of achieving my goal of crossing that line in Boston.
Thanks Lindsay. You are the best.

I have been having a massage from Lindsay every week; it is my reward for working hard in my training sessions, as well as working hard all week at my job, so I indulge myself each Saturday. Lindsay seems to know just the right spots to concentrate on, as I seem to hold all my tension in my neck and shoulders, he fixes it each week. Also helps my legs prepare for marathons etc.
The thing I like best about Lindsay is, he does not just give a 'feel good massage', but really gets in to the muscles and niggly spots. He also seems to know when to shut up, so I can relax and not converse. I hate masseurs who interrupt my quiet time with a lot of talk; I do enough of that all week. All in all, a great masseur, and if you are reading this, don't try to pinch my Saturday spot, it's taken!!
Cheers April Houghton.

A brief history of Massage?
Massage may be the oldest and simplest form of medical care. The first documented descriptions of massage dates back over 5000 years ago. A Chinese book, The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine, recommends 'breathing exercises, massage of skin and flesh, and exercises of hands and feet" as the appropriate treatment for -complete paralysis, chills, and fever." It was one of the principal method of relieving pain for Greek and Roman physicians. The father of medicine, Hippocrates wrote "The Physician must be experienced in many things,", "but assuredly in rubbing… for rubbing can bind a joint that is too loose, and loosen a joint that is too rigid."
What is Massage Therapy?
Massage therapy spans a wide variety of therapeutic approaches, working to improve an individual's health and well-being through the hands-on manipulation of muscles and other soft tissues of the body. Therapeutic massage involves manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body to prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm, and stress. It also may improve the rate at which the body recovers from injury and illness.
How will massage benefit me?
Massage has many benefits, research studies show massage can:
· Enhance athletic performance; Treats injuries caused during sport or work
· Helps relieve tension-related headaches and effects of eye-strain
· Help relieve stress and aids relaxation
· Improve range of motion and muscle flexibility, resulting in improved power and performance
· Reduce muscle spasms
· Faster healing of strained muscles and sprained ligaments; reduces pain and swelling; reduces formation of excessive scar tissue: maximize the supply of nutrients and oxygen through increased blood flow
· shorten recovery time between workouts
Why add massage to your health & wellbeing plan?
Known for improving training, injury prevention, enhanced self awareness and performance, massage improves blood circulation and lymph fluid which aids in muscle recovery. This allows athletes to train more efficaciously. Massage is a natural antioxidant as it helps to remove waste products and refurbishes tissues with essential nutrients in help in healing. By using massage, tissue damage and imbalances can be detected earlier and possibly corrected before an injury ensues.

The techniques can include Trigger Point Therapy, deep tissue massage and stretching thereby creating an improved range of motion through the joints.
