What is the first thing you do when you bump or knock yourself? You rub the spot! This is the basis of massage and over many years the various styles or modalities have been developed and the moves refined to the most effective and efficient for the job at hand.

You respond to pressure better when you are relaxed it’s the same with your muscles.

Reduced muscle tension, better relaxation ,increased the rate of healing, increased circulation of both blood and lymph are some of the benefits of massage. Others include more oxygen to the muscles, an increased the rate of waste/toxin removal from the muscles and a reduced chance of injury.

The body is an incredible machine with its ability to walk, run, jump, pedal and heal itself to name just a few. Like any machine the body performs better with regular maintenance. You over-ride your body’s demands for attention by tolerating a certain amount of pain. By doing this you are ignoring the ‘little’ warnings it is giving you. A tight and/or tender muscle may be further damaged or torn by an insignificant action eg reaching for a book or the phone.

A weekly massage would be of the greatest value but a massage a month is still beneficial to your body.

Is one hour of your busy schedule to maintain your body, so you can work, rest and play better, too much to spend?
If not give me a call or send me an email to arrange an appointment!!

Corporate / Workplace massage focusing on neck pain, back pain and headaches associated with long periods of time working at computers. Seated massage chair & workstation desk-top massage unit as well as folding massage table allow me to treat you in whatever space is avaiailable.

With the in-home service you get the maximum benefit from your treatment because you can have a shower and relax allowing the treatment to take full effect. You choose what music, if any, you would like listen to while being massaged. One client listens to Banjo Pattersons poems!
You don't have the stress of having to battle with the traffic, the supermarket or in the case of Cross Fibre mobilisation you don't have to remember to stop and have a 5 minute walk and stretch after 30 minutes travelling.
Not comfortable with a stranger in your home? I only require an area approximately 3 metres by 2 metres with a spot to stand my oil bottle and have worked in a laundry, on a deck and in an entertainment area.

Spa treatment involves placing at least one part of your body generally your feet in a basin of water with the Orb. The Orb boosts and enhances the energy present in the water to 'recharge' you. During the treatment most people feel a tingling sensation in their feet and their feet feel 'light' for a period of time after the end of the session. Clients and myself feel re-energised after the treatment eg: Brian (50 year old gym junkie) was foot-sore and his legs were aching so he had a spa while waiting for his son to have his massage. Afterwards he commented on how light his feet felt and how well he slept that night. On Sunday, the following day, he ran his best ever time for 10km on a running machine. For further information on the Q Energy spa go to www.QtheExperience.com.au

Non-manipulative Skeletal Re-Alignment involves extremely light pressure being placed on of pairs of nerves around your pelvis, sacrum,(your buttock area in general) then up both sides of your spine to your shoulder blades and continuing up your neck to the base of the skull. During the treatment you may feel only the pressure (if you place your finger on your own eye and can feel it, that is the pressure used) being applied, a warm spot or a 'buzzing' something similar to pins and needles. It is surprising to find that such light pressure can have such a major affect on you. The brain receives 'messages' from the now excited nerves and responds by sending messages to the muscles in the area. Checking and resetting the muscle lengths which in turn can cause some minor discomfort over the following day or two. During this 48 hour period you may walk, cycle or swim.
Ben had a sore back and had been in pain (8-9 out of 10) for several months. I massaged him on Friday which reduced his pain (to 4-5 out of 10). He attended a wedding the following day which 'undid' most of the pain relief. Monday he had an MRI which showed he has 3 damaged discs. On the Tuesday I treated him with this method after which he felt much better. Wednesday he had his first pain free session with the Physiotherapist and he returned to work the following Monday with only a little discomfort in the post-treatment period.
